October 23-17: Surrey International Writers Conference. Vancouver, BC. I'll be attending this AWESOME conference for professional development, but will also be doing a signing at the conference Book Fair of my latest release, KILLER'S INSTINCT, set to launch mid-October.

July 16, 2013: Cold Lake Public Library. Cold Lake, Alberta. Meeting with the adult book club who've kindly read my debut novel, UNDER MY SKIN, and have asked me to join them for some tea and bookish discussion. Lovely!
February 23: Young Authors’ Conference. Sherwood Park, AB. THE BONES OF THE STORY: Screenwriting and FICTION TO DIE FOR workshops
I’ll be sharing my experience writing scripts for film and television and offering tips on the craft of screenwriting. We will delve into how to plot a script using my outline structure, The Bones of the Story.  From gripping logline to epic showdown, I’ll provide students with the foundation they’ll need to create their own dreadfully cool scripts.

January 28: Family Literacy Night. Dr. Bernard Brosseau School, Bonnyville, AB. As a guest speaker, I’ll be doing a reading from my steampunk short story, The Steadfast Steam Soldier, published in Winter Wonders, and discussing the trip to Europe that inspired the tale.

July 4: Fiction to DIE for. Cold Lake Public Library (1pm Grand Centre Branch. Teen Program)

Local young adult author, Tracy Belsher, writing as JUDITH GRAVES, shows you what makes fiction to DIE for, how to develop characters that ROCK, and how to REVAMP your work, aka revision with BITE! Be prepared for writerly battle as she introduces you to the beasties known as storyboarding and character cards. Once tamed these tools can help with plot structure and character development. Come ready to do some writing activities.

July 3: Introduction to Screenwriting. Cold Lake Public Library (6pm Grand Centre Branch. Adult Program)
Local young adult  author, Tracy Belsher, writing as JUDITH GRAVES, shares her experiences writing scripts for network television and offer tips on the craft of screenwriting. Graves will delve into the benefits of collaboration, including the power of Google Docs and screenwriting programs such as Scrivener, as well how to plot a script using her outline structure, The Bones of the Story. From gripping logline to epic showdown, she’ll provide you with the foundation you’ll need to create your own dreadfully cool scripts. Come ready to do some writing activities.

May 3-6th: Alberta Association of Library Technicians Annual Conference. Canmore, AB. Author Visits to DIE for. 
Local young adult author and library technician, Tracy Belsher, writing as Judith Graves, offers an overview of what makes a virtual author visit successful, the technology basics, and how to connect students or library patrons with authors willing to provide this wonderfully interactive (and inexpensive!) service. Popular young adult author, Shannon Delany will be dropping in via Skype to model a successful virtual visit.
April 13th: FRIDAY THE 13th Double Launch and Gothic Tea Party: Cold Lake, AB.
March 23rd: SPIRITED Launch Party and Fundraiser. Edmonton, AB. Join me, Dawn Dalton, and Halli Dee Lilburn, three Alberta authors featured in the SPIRITED anthology for one wickedly cool launch party and fundraiser event. Proceeds from the night will go to an Alberta-based literacy charity. Help us slay the scary beastie known as illiteracy and rock out while doing so…we’ll have the awesome band, Calista, providing tunes to keep our hearts racing.
